Photos came back from the body guy this evening. The entire outer rockers had to be replaced, the inner portions had to be fabricated because they're a multi-section piece-revolving around the heater tube itself. I debated buying NOS heater channels but they were very expensive and required additional work to install/clean up. This wound up being a bit less expensive and it's allowing me a glimpse of the inside of the channel to make sure other related areas are cleaned up. The rear seat wheel wells both had to be replaced with donor metal due to severe rust through on both sides. There was evidence of prior repairs with booger welds and that had to be replaced as well.
The bottom of the rocker/heater channel area with newly grafted but not yet finished metal.
In the background is another fix: the ovaled out hole on the dash for the headlight switch. That red car (Icarus) will provide more donor metal for Ferris.
Icarus, in fact, is now in three pieces at the shop. Front clip, roof and rear clip (B pillar back).
The outer skins are going back on the body in the next week or two. The wiring harness tube had to be fabricated due to rust/corrosion. I'm going to try to figure out a way to keep the water out of that tube. While I won't be driving the car in the snow/salt months, it'll get driven in the rain, so I need to proactively deal with the weird water intrusion points.
The rear drain flaps area was COVERED with seam sealer-and not neatly-turns out the seam sealer was covering numerous booger welds and holes that had rusted through the body. There are NOS rear bumper brackets to replace the rear pieces and the drain flap area will be fabricated/replaced using bits from Icarus.
