“Just for the record, the weather today is calm and sunny, but the air is full of bullshit.”

I went to the local VW show yesterday...to find parts, 'network' and hopefully sell some parts that have been taking up space in the garage.

I wound up selling the last random engine block I have and one of the two Hurst shifters in my possession, along with a bellows clamp and the speedometer from the 65.  That was it.  I was hoping to sell off the rear drums but there just weren't enough Type 3 people in attendance to make the sale.  All in all, it was a decent day-I got to hang out with Lou for a few hours and shoot the shit about people and cars-two of our favorite topics.  The show was decent, a record turn out for cars in attendance but the swap area was a dud.  Not many sellers with parts and even fewer buyers...something I attribute to the time of year the show is held.

It's funny to listen to people who walk up and just start talking about the awesome car they're building...then they buy a totally rusted out part or have a box full of EMPI parts that will start to rust a month after they are installed.  Sometimes the 'vision' is brighter than the reality, I suppose.

Jim and I met up yesterday-the engine is done, new chokes are installed and it's ready for delivery.  I'm still working on the generator and starter pieces.  I think I'll have the starter in a couple of weeks, generator to follow.  I picked up a bell housing from Lou so once I get an engine stand, I can fire up the motor once in a while until it goes into the car.  Front brakes and a transmission rebuild are also on the board, so there are a few things to keep me busy until the floor pan returns.
