Two more little pieces to the puzzle that can be taken off the list of parts to find. They don't seem like much but they're not exactly easy to find in NOS condition. I started hunting down the pieces for the newer, smaller generator (seal and hold down bracket). I have to get the fan housing cleaned and I might paint it silver. I also need to find and paint a 6 volt generator pulley shroud since the one I have that's painted is a 12volt. I'm secretly preparing to build a second 1500 S motor (shhh...don't tell my wife) and I have sourced most of the parts that I don't have in my immediate possession.
I'm 5 days away from hopefully selling off a lot of the random engine pieces and parts that I have laying around the garage. I'm also going to get in touch with the transmission contact I was given after a disappointing experience with another shop. If nothing else, I'd like to have all of the pieces present so that if I get a few moments to myself that I can start to put them back together.
I thought I'd found NOS early heater channels but they were sold before I got a chance to get my hands on them...so I have to wait for the next opportunity or until Steve gets time to fabricate them in the Fall/Winter.
No news yet about the door panel material-my friends in Germany have gone silent again. I hope that means they're digging for it and/or cleaning it vs. discovering that it's destroyed.
