"He who despairs over an event is a coward but he who holds hope for the human condition is a fool."

I found an engine stand on Craigslist a couple of days ago - the seller was almost a neighbor they were so close.  One more thing to scratch off the list.  I also found a NOS 12v generator seal and a NOS 12v generator bracket.  In addition, I ordered the high torque starter and am waiting on information about the generator rebuild.

Located a credible transmission builder in California-little known place to most...I was going to send a transmission to Rancho but I heard a lot of people complaining about the quality coming out of that place so I decided to keep looking for another shop...through a referral from a few of their customers, I found that place.  I'm going to send some photos to them today and probably get them ready to ship next week.  I'm going to send both transmissions and they can keep one as an extra core and hopefully reduce my out of pocket expenses.  The guy who does the rebuild told me that they like to do the rebuild from the transmission all the way out to the backing plates to make sure that everything fits together properly.  So, I should get a complete, ready to install transmission back when it's done.  All I have to do is install the rear brakes and wheels.  I'm perfectly happy with that idea.  I can assemble the rear end with new bushings and have it ready to go when the transmission returns.

It's time to get some stuff going on this epically long build.
