Searching for direction

The car is apart from the pan-on a stand that was built in record time.

The front apron is damaged at both sides-meaning that it would have to be replaced to get it straight.

The A pillar is completely rusted through-the more this car moves around, the worse it gets.  The only thing this car has that Ferris doesn't is heater channel vents and those are easily removed.

Both cars have rust or mediocre repairs in the same place (around the wheel well), although this car's rust is far more damaging than on Ferris.

I could replace the damaged pieces on Ferris and have a better product in the end.

I haven't yet been able to get a decent photo of the crease at the rear cargo floor area.  There are actually two creases in the floor and on the side wall.  I'm not sure they can be smoothed out at this stage.  The underside of the car is also pretty rusty.

Vent drain areas are in decent shape on this car.  Might be able to use them for parts.

The engine should clean up okay-I'm not going to hold my breath until I get it apart, cleaned up and see how it runs (or if it runs).

The heat exchangers are rusted through at the front-meaning that I can't really use them and that's a bummer because it's more money that will be spent on top of a car that's already cost too much.

The more I dig into this car, the more it looks like it's just going to be an expensive parts car-there's so much wrong with it that I cannot justify dumping money into fixing it up to the point where it can be driven.

Today was great from a productivity standpoint-I had the help of two friends who were more than willing to help get this car where I wanted today...but it was a serious bummer in the realization that this car won't wind up being in the condition I'd hoped when I bought it.  It's a four wheeled bummer that I spent way too much on in the hope of not having to finish the scale of project that Ferris has turned into...and here I am, again, with more stuff I don't need-financially further from my goal.

I'm at a cross road...do I keep going and risk throwing good money after bad?  Or do I just stop chasing this ghost and sell everything?  Trying to figure out which decision I'll regret less and there's no easy answer.

    1. That's one way to put it. It's an experience I hope to be able to look back on one day and laugh.
