Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.

This picture was never meant to happen.  These two cars were not to meet-under any circumstances.  Seeing the two cars next to one another, I'm reminded of the colossal error in judgement in buying the red car.  It's so much more apparent now.  It's a bitter, large, chalky pill to choke down.  And now, it's staring at me...with disdain.

After a bit of last minute schedule changes, JB and I went down and picked up Ferris from the body shop today.  The car wound up not being ready until 3pm, so we did some work on his car while we waited for the time to pass.

I had the gas tank and rear suspension triangle powder coated (you can see the triangle in the photo) and they turned out really nice.  The floor pans are replaced and the kick panel is installed.  The pan was not powdercoated because it will need to be married to the body several times to test the fit of the 'to be fabricated' heater channels.  I also noticed today that Ferris (being an N model) doesn't have pop out hinges in the B pillar.  They can be taken from the red car but it's one more thing that needs to be moved/worked on.  I'm really sitting at a crossroad-trying to determine how much more money I'm willing to throw in this fire for the sake of keeping warm.  I really want to finish the car but I also don't want to unnecessarily waste money chasing this rabbit down a hole.
I have another body guy coming by tomorrow to take a look at the cars to let me know his estimate for work.  If it's sky high, this whole venture might be over.  I've got to be responsible about what I'm doing and I'm starting to doubt my decisions.  I've also considered just saving up the money to buy a finished car in a couple of years-selling off most of what I have now to make space and giving myself a break from the disappointment.
The front beam cleaned up decently considering the temperature was in the low 40°F range at the time.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet...but both cars won't be in the garage for long.

Dear Wife: The car won't be white when it's done so you have plenty of time to come up with another nickname...
