This little guy will be welcomed to the the family of parts in a few weeks. I found him on eBay-sitting there, lonely, waiting for someone to pick him up and give him a home. I couldn't resist the low adoption fee or those beady little eyes, so I scooped him up into my virtual arms.
He was listed as a Mercedes part-only he and I knew this wasn't where he belonged.
I think I might need some therapy.
And because I probably need therapy, I also bought some NOS wiper arms. I'm sure the rubber is shot but it can be replaced. The wiper system is complete, however, so I can effectively stop looking at those parts.
I'm hoping to get some time in the garage this weekend to work on the rear transaxle assembly/subframe. I just need to get it back together and I can get this ball rolling.
Front brakes will be purchased at the end of the month and I've also got to work on getting a group of parts together for powder coat so that I can get the front end back together (with brakes) and be ready for the pan. I'm probably going to have to build a stand to hold the front end upright once it's assembled because it'll be heavy and a little awkward to handle/store. So it looks like I have some woodworking in my future.
I'd also like to buy a welder and learn to weld. It's high time I used my hands for something other than buying parts on the internet.
