It's like asking if a dog understands the concept of Norway...

Not much has been happening in the past couple of weeks with the car(s).  The white car is undergoing the body work to correct/complete what was done in the past and slowly, ever so slowly, the red car will be dissected for parts/measurements, etc.

I've decided to part out the pan from the red car-I'd put up an ad on TheSamba.com to sell the whole thing for a better price but it's not found a buyer-just 'watchers' who don't appear to be set on buying anything.  So, it'll get parted out over the long holiday weekend and I'll ultimately sell it for more money than the whole enchilada would have gone for...although now the pieces will be small enough to ship and I'm hoping that'll find a few buyers.  Only time will tell, I suppose.  I would like to get it out of the garage soon so that I can start working on the parts I'm keeping.  I'm a year behind schedule and would like to try to keep it from being two years behind schedule.

My wife and I spent a week exploring Memphis last week - we drove down and spent the week checking out the sights, sounds and smells.  It was a really nice escape from daily life and we learned quite a bit about the Mid-South...not to mention that we each gained 7-9 lbs. each from all of the food.  Portion size is something that is rapidly being lost on American restaurants because they all seem to serve enough to feed three people.  I went down in search of great BBQ and wound up finding Gus's Fried Chicken.  I'm not a huge fried chicken fan...I would say that it's been several months, if not a year or more, since I've had fried chicken.  But Gus's was very surprising.   So much so that we went back after walking through the BBQ Contest Grounds at Tom Lee Park.  It was a good time-weather was nice and people were super friendly.

I've sold the 1500 N cylinders to someone who can and will wind up using them much faster than I will.  I'm not really buying anything right now-there's the Effingham show in two weeks (the one I go to every year and then swear I'm not going back) and a few days later, I hop on a plane for California to check out the Classic in Irvine.  I'm holding out hope that I'll find some hard to find parts while I'm there.  I've got more than enough to keep me busy for the Summer even if I don't find anything.

I think I've got 95% of the parts I want/need to put this car back together so I'm going to wind up putting my ads back up to try to get things sold down...I've got a lot of extra parts I don't need and will likely never use.

We are attempting to finish several open projects around the house this month so I won't be doing much with the car until that's completed.  June and July will be car months, maybe August, but September through the end of the year will be slow.  I've got a small-ish window of time in which to accomplish as much as possible toward getting Ferris back on tires and driving by next Summer.
