"If there is no struggle, there is no progress"

I stripped the passenger side door last night in a brief moment of 'dust settling' around the house.  I just have the hatch to strip down before the red car makes its journey next week.

I bought an exhaust, dampner and exhaust tip in addition to an extra set of backing plates for the rear brakes.  I'm on the hunt for a left side heater box if the one I have doesn't work out...the two from the red car are in far worse shape than I initially thought.

I ordered a couple of gasket kits from Germany over a month ago and I'm starting to wonder if they're lost...I also put one of the original carburetors in Berryman's Carb cleaner to see how clean I could get it.  I left it there too long and the carb looks like it started to erode in the sauce.  I took it out and rinsed it off with hot water but I think the damage is done.  Might be time to look for a spare to replace it...then I can send the pair off for rebuild to original specs.

No news on the transmission that was started in January...I was told it was almost done a month ago and then again two weeks ago.  Must be time for me to ask about it again...or just jump in the car and drive 90 minutes North to find out in person.

I sold a few parts today so I naturally bought a few parts as well...new P/C for the 1500, a NOS fuel pump, a NOS fuel pump rebuild kit, a 6v regulator and a NOS single port type 3 head.  The pistons and cylinders are for the regular 1500 but I can use the liners if mine are scored or otherwise damaged.  I'm pretty close to being able to build up that motor and check for compression.  I have to swap out the fan shrouds (for 12v housing) but everything else should be good.  I'll have to see when I get the parts swapped and the engine cleaned off a bit.  I think the carburetors are the last piece of the puzzle.
