Lost and found

The door bell has been ringing a lot lately...college kids trying to get me to take a newspaper subscription, Boy Scouts trying to sell popcorn (again), 'underprivileged' kids trying to sell candy or movie tickets...all in the last two days.  I'm not real excited about answering the door because I know I'll have to stop someone short and send them packing-in spite of their pleas.

So it rang again about 20 minutes ago and I immediately wondered who'd be at the door and what they might try to get me to buy.  Instead of an ambitious solicitor, I found our mail carrier, with a box.  From Germany.  I immediately smiled because I knew what it was-the missing box from June.  It was mailed on 29 June 2012 and arrived today.  Mysterious that another box mailed three days later from the same origin arrived in less than half that time and this one somehow stopped along the way for some reason.

In a little over a week, I should be shipping out the transmissions and having the engine discussion with a local retired VW mechanic.  My goal is in view, although the progress feels slow.  It'll happen.
