Ferris gets skates...

Kelly and I built a new 'cart' for the body of the Variant.  The old one was put together without much thought about how to move it around if needed.  It was too high to move out of the garage door and was not very stable.

This is the old stand (after all of the stuff underneath it was moved):

This is the new stand, using hardware we already had and some wood and wheels from Home Depot:
The back end is still too low but it'll work for now.  The measurements were tight-we had less than 6" of waste wood when it was finished.  I used a few pieces out of the wood scrap (for the fire pit) to raise the back end 3" but it wasn't enough to level it out.  This will allow me to move the car outside so I can use the garage more effectively.

I also made a wheeled cart out of scrap 2x2's and the wheels from a broken creeper for the pan.

  1. I like that, simple materials but it works great, why buy a expensive "car cart" when you can make one yourself. I'll have to keep that in mind when I tear my car apart someday
