"Expect the best. Prepare for the worst. Capitalize on what comes."

Listed as a NOS ignition with one key (odd), this went up last night in the classifieds at 115£, not including shipping.  So I look at it-notice that the wire ends are not typical of the NOS units I've purchased but decide that it might be worth it due to the scripting on the bezel.   So I contact the seller and tell him that I'll buy it from him and request PayPal information and a total with shipping.

At 3am, while I'm up with my son who's decided that he likes being wide awake at nutty hours, I get an email from the seller: "I hit the wrong key on my tablet last night-price should read £215, ad has been amended...total is £237.90"

Honest mistake?  Maybe...  £237.90 is nearing $400-which is more than I paid for my NOS complete column WITH a NOS ignition installed.  So that's not going to happen...

The key is a little rough at the cut side and, in spite of what the seller says, I suspect that the wires have been cut at some point.  The three wires that go to the fuse box should be about 22" long if NOS/never installed and the ends would be tinned/ready to crimp and install.  The key is a definitely a copy-the logo is incorrect for a NOS key and there's too much wear on it.

The more I look at the pictures the better I think this turned out for me.

Someone will buy it-they'll pay too much and might find out that the wires are too short but it won't be me.

Meanwhile, I have the exact same ignition lock at home-although it's in pieces and will have to be rebuilt.  It's becoming apparent that I won't have time so it'll get sent off to be rebuilt.
