Received the NOS vac can that was found with the help of Glenn Ring (it was listed as a 36hp vac can in the classifieds). Installation took all of 5 minutes and now the distributor is as it should be.
I also received the bell housing for the engine stand (the adapter arrived yesterday), so all I have to do is find the right bolts and drill one hole and the engine can go up on the stand.
I'm thinking about buying some J tubes for the engine stand with a header and a quiet pack. It won't be stock but it'll allow me to start the motor and run it to keep things lubed.
I also received some other parts for the restoration: pre-heat hose clamp, thermostat spring, rubber buffer for the cooling flaps, brake line spring clamps (or whatever they're called), miscellaneous rubber pieces and NOS solid axle boots for the transmission rebuild.
The NOS axle boots look just like the original pair I took off the transmission last night - that was a welcome sight when I opened the box!
A few clamps and the bearings are all that await the shipment to California for the transmissions.
