Expectation is the mother of all frustration.

I received the fuel pump I bought a few days ago.  I discovered that the shipping cost I paid was for Standard Post shipping rather than Priority Mail, which was both cheaper and faster.  I opened the box to find that it's in fairly rough shape.  I'm trying to get that sorted shortly.  Money spent but not spent well.  It'd be great if people could just be honest and straightforward... but that's probably asking too much.  Is it a 'game changer'?  No, but it's yet another disappointing reality of this hobby.  A lot of people will fuck you if given the chance.  I've got to stop dropping the soap, so to speak...

I have got to stop being so optimistic about things until they're actually in my sweaty little hands.  I got a lot of shit for being cynical but I was disappointed far less often when I took that view of things.

It was a rough day all around today and I probably should have called in sick and played video games or cleaned the garage (two forms of 'therapy' for me).

News of the engine rebuild will come tomorrow-looking like it'll need a bit more work than expected but it should still be relatively affordable. (here I go being optimistic again...)
