It's masochistic, I know...but I just have to know what's going to be used from this car. Maybe I watch too many project based shows where they track a budget.
I pulled the fuse block out of the car last night. With the exception of the hacked wiring for the ignition column, the wiring under the dash is clean (no hacks). The fuse block is solid so that's good news...and the wires I retrieve from the car will be bagged and tagged for possible future use. I've got both a NOS and a repop wiring harness but having the 6 volt stuff couldn't hurt at all. I'm looking to keep the progress moving and recover some of my risky investment.
I'm going to nickname the car "Icarus". It's rather fitting if you know the story-and this car's ambition of escape to a better life will be picked apart, one feather melting away at a time, until there's nothing left. The failures and ignorance that went along with Icarus and his purchase will yield several greater lessons which are sure to come later.
One thing is for sure: There are going to be a lot of classified ads going up in the next couple of weeks.
