The bittersweet arrival

The transport showed up tonight-only a few hours later than originally quoted before the winter storm.  I was prepared for the car to arrive tomorrow due to the weather.

The Ford GT was behind my car in the trailer and had to be unloaded slowly and carefully.  Just a few moments after I took this picture, one of my neighbors was coming around the corner in his car.  He stopped in the street, rolled the window down and said "wow, nice car!"  I replied with 'yes, it is!' and he drove off.  I hope he doesn't come by tomorrow hoping to check it out.

I used Pirgos Transport, a company sort of local to me, and they did an excellent job of keeping me informed about the location of the truck and an anticipated delivery date/time.

Now on to the car I bought.

After much inner conflict and negotiation, I bought this car and had it transported to my garage.

I was conflicted because I wanted to finish Ferris no matter what-but the mathematics of the situation just didn't allow me to keep spending money on something that would continue to absorb dollar signs with little visible progress.  I won't really know for a few weeks if I made the right decision but I'm hoping I did.  Buying a car without actually touching it first is unnerving because there are usually surprises...a few of which I've already discovered.  It is what it is.

There will be more photos and dialog in the next two days as I delve into the circumstances of this car and it's real condition.  I'm hoping that the ends justify the means...if you know what I mean.
