...the relics of our time

...and now, I wait.

I did receive the brake lines I ordered...and as I was warned, they're completely straight-unlike the photo representing the fact that they're shaped as they would be from the factory.  At least I didn't get my hopes up and I expected the bare minimum...which is exactly what I received.

I have two shipments in transit that will bring some new things.  I'm gathering the parts needed to build up the front beam and the rear suspension assembly, in addition to the pan.  I have the heater cables, accelerator cable, clutch cable and still need to buy the hand brake cables.  I'm looking for one part for the pedal cluster (113.721.109A) before I buy a few modern upgrades.

The body getting painted really is the turning point for the project because it's where things can really come together.  I have a few things to keep me busy in the mean time (after the house projects are wrapped up in the coming weeks) and I hope to be posting some updates about the progress shortly.

The steering column paint didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped so I'm going to get them repainted before I put them together (a delay).  The assembly is rather quick and it'll be a 'slam dunk' for task accomplishment.  I'm going to build two and sell off the remainder of the parts.

  1. Coming along great, can't wait to see it all back together. Out of curiosity what was the color you decided on in the end?

  2. I am eagerly awaiting the 'assembly' process-I think it'll be the most fun, most rewarding and most challenging.

As of right now: Cobalt blue is the color. Who knows, I could change my mind...I've got a few months.
