Six month check in

We just moved into a new house and a lot has been happening-just not with the car.

Here's where we are now:
The interior is completely stripped clean.  I also removed the entire wiring harness as it was broken in several places.  Replacement harnesses are readily available so I'm not terribly concerned about it right now.  The plan is to get the body off the pan and make sure that's all in good shape.  If that works out, I'm in great shape...the pan looks okay but, admittedly, I haven't done a ton of cleaning yet.  It looks great from 5' away.

I took the hood off for safe storage so it didn't find its first dent in the garage.  Pulled the fuel tank-it turns out, it'll need another cleaning and some paint.  The front beam has quite a bit of rust at the mounts-I kept the front beam from the 64, so I'll have enough parts to get one functional beam.  Just about everything else is shot...but I have replacements.

I also sold the front fenders and the towel bar bumper set since I had no plans to use them.  If I change my mind later, I can find a NOS or VGC towel bar bumper on The Samba.

Most of my time is consumed by work and the house right now...tides will turn shortly.
